Website Design
I started designing websites in 1999, when I learned that you didn't have to be a professional to make a website. I started with personal sites and Harry Potter fan sites, and one can easily see how my skills have developed over the years. I believe I made several dozen websites, it'd be an interesting chore of seeing how many of them are out there that have simply been abandoned. However, I've cut down and combined my sites into just one - this one; though I have membership to several sites with specific interests - deviantART, darkpoetry, and livejournal, mostly.
Presently, I use Homestead for designing my sites (I create my sites visually and then work out any issues with raw code in Notebook); previously I've used Expage, Geocities, and Angelfire. I also experiment with Dreamweaver.
I bought the domain name for Practically Famous in October of 2002, but it wasn't actually launched until January of 2003.
- Version 7 Progress - May/June 2004
- Version 8 Narcissist - October 2004
- Version 9 Morning Dew - April 2006
My other websites have included:
- Spellbound is an online Harry Potter school that was quite popular... the descendant of Raven's Wing (below). I shut it down because I'm so busy, but it was going pretty well for a while.
- Raven's Wing was my first online Harry Potter website, it was wicked popular, and it still holds a certain degree of "This was one of my first websites, oh wow!".
- When I first saw the movie Moulin Rouge, I just found it to be a beautiful display of "the Bohemian spirit" of "truth, beauty, freedom, and above all things, love"; naturally, as I was design-happy, I made a fan website.
